Literature of the Sumerian Empire

The Sumerians produced and extensive series of myths revolving around there gods. The most extensive contribution to literature was the first Epic Poem- The Epic of Gilgamesh. This epic recoutns the wandering of Gilgamesh the king of Uruk. It tells the story of a great flood.
